It's not the end of the world...

...it's just the end of this blog.

Nach einiger Überlegung habe ich mich entschlossen, diesen Blog zu schließen. Ich sehe keinen Sinn mehr darin, das Internet mit meinen mehr oder weniger schlauen Posts zuzumüllen.
Dinge ändern sich, und es ist Zeit nach Neuem zu suchen.
Ich wünsche Euch weiterhin viel Spaß in der virtuellen Welt und danke meinen treuen Besuchern dieses Blogs. Wir werden auf andere Art und Weise in Kontakt bleiben.

After some consideration I have decided to close this blog. I can't see any further use in contaminating the Internet with my more or less clever posts.
Things change and the time is up to look for something new.
I wish you fun in this virtual world and thank my faithful visitors. We will stay in contact in either way.

This morning I woke up at 5.25. My first thought was that when my clock radio would turn on at 6, I would know if Obama did it.
And then I finally woke up hearing the news woman say that Obama has won the election. YES!
We usually don't watch TV in the morning but today we went downstairs to watch Obama speak.

Good luck Mr. President, good luck USA!

Americans, be brave!

During the last months I have seen a lot of news and tv reports about the US and the election. Sometimes I have been really shocked about the ignorance, credulity and stubbornness of some people. These surely have been extreme examples but we know that there are too many people who vote the same party for years and years because it has always been this way no matter what crap they've done.
Obama stands for hope which we need so badly. And he stands for change, a change that may be uncomfortable at first but can result in a positive new generation.
But as disenchanted as I am I can't believe that he will win. And if he will I'm afraid that he won't live very long. Like a colleague said, Obama's the most endangered person of the world.
I so hope that I'm wrong!

Als ich klein war...

...kamen die besten Kinderfilme und -serien aus der damaligen Tschechoslowakei. Als kleine Erinnerung ein Ausschnitt aus Luzie, der Schrecken der Straße. Erinnert Ihr Euch auch noch an PanTau? Und dann war da noch so eine Serie mit einer Prinzessin. Aber ich komme nicht mehr drauf, wie die hieß.

Als ich klein war...

...liebte ich Pumuckl. So frech wie der kleine Kobold wäre ich auch gerne gewesen. Ich glaube, ich hatte damals auch eine Hörspielkassette und ein Puzzle von Pumuckl.

...I loved Pumuckl. I wished to be as cheeky as the little elf. I think I also had a cassette and a puzzle of Pumuckl.




Aber das Verrückteste passierte heute! Pumuckl gibt es wirklich und er läuft Marathon! Barfuß!

But the craziest thing happened today! Pumuckl really exists and runs marathon! Barefoot!

Vermischtes

Ich habe mir vorgenommen, endlich mehr Sport zu machen. In meinem Job muss ich viel und schwer heben, weshalb ich vor allem auch etwas für meinen Rücken tun möchte.
Das Gute ist, dass ich als Mitarbeiterin des Krankenhauses kostengünstig und vertragsunabhängig im Fitnessbereich der Physiotherapie trainieren kann.
Das Schlechte ist, dass ich gestern bei einer Masseurin/Physiotherapeutin war, die mir sagte, dass meine Rückenmuskulatur derart verspannt ist, dass ich auf Krafttraining vorerst verzichten sollte.
Stattdessen soll ich lieber zur Lockerung laufen. Ausgerechnet! Laufen ist soooo langweilig!

I have decided to do more sports. In my job I have to lift/carry heavy things/patients quite often, so I would like to train my back especially besides the rest of my body. The good thing is that as a hospital employee I can use the fitness studio of our physical therapy department for a reduced fee. The bad thing is that I have visited a masseur/physiotherapist yesterday and she told that my back is in such bad condition that I should avoid strength training for now and should rather run to relax the muscles. Of all things running! Running is soooo boring!

Und noch ne neue CD! Interesse an feinem abwechslungsreichem und experimentierfreudigem Elektropop? Robyn wird schon seit einer Weile zumindest in den USA und England hoch gehandelt. Bei mir hat's ne Weile gedauert bis der Groschen gefallen ist, aber jetzt höre ich die Platte rauf und runter.
Dafür gesorgt hat vor allem der Song "Dream on", der gar nicht auf dem Album ist, aber bei itunes mit angeboten wird. Hier könnt Ihr Euch das Video zu "Dream On" anschauen.

And another new CD! Interested in fine, varied electronic pop? Since quite a while Robyn receives rave reviews especially in the US and UK. For me it took some time until it finally sunk in but now the record turns endlessly in my player.
The song "Dream On" was responsible that I fell in love at last. This song isn't on the album but available on itunes. You can watch the video here. There are a lot more videos on you tube / google video. And here you can find the official website.

Bernd the Bread is a character from the Children's channel (KiKa) who's always depressive, disgruntled and unintentionally funny.
At night, during the channels intermission, they show Bernd in infinite loop. He tries to escape from the camera and tries to convince the audience to switch off.
Bernd became very famous with these loops and the program has won a Grimme Award which is Germany's most important and respected TV award.
